UW-Stout graduate Carter J. Thomas has been named director, industrial design – luxury business for American Standard Brands. He will oversee the creation of innovative kitchen and bath styles for the Jado, Porcher and American Standard luxury brands. Thomas spent more than 10 years at Kohler as lead designer of their Plumbing Americas division. He received the IDSA/Business Week IDEA Gold award for his work on the sok Overflowing Bath. Thomas has a bachelor's degree in industrial design from the university.

UW-Stout graduate creates burlesque show
UW-Stout graduate Natalie Bunton started the business The Midnight Muse Revue about a year ago after a friend requested a carnival and burlesque theme for a birthday party. Now with a stage name of Mademoiselle Musette, she and her cast entertains regularly at Minneapolis nightclub Ground Zero, but will perform Saturday in Eau Claire. Bunton graduated in 2000 with a degree in graphic design from UW-Stout.

For the children of six Hudson businessmen, a day with dad won’t be anything out of the ordinary this Father’s Day — because they already work alongside their fathers in family businesses. Industry leader: Brigid O’Malley
UW-Stout graduate Brigid O’Malley is profiled as an industry leader. Since becoming president of Reiling Construction Co. Inc. five years ago, she’s also formed three additional companies — and stayed busy raising a family and helping out in the community. O’Malley graduated from the university in 1985 with a degree in hotel and restaurant management.

Ghost stories: Illinois is haunted and entertained by spooky tales
UW-Stout alumnus Chad Lewis, author of "Illinois Guide to Haunted Locations" and other books, researches the paranormal around the world. He recently presented in Chicago on some of the Midwest's most haunted sites. Lewis received a degree in psychology from the university.
